What to know before laser tattoo removal?

1. Set your expectations
Before you begin treatment, it’s important to realize that no tattoo is guaranteed to be removed. Talk to a laser treatment specialist or three to set expectations. Some tattoos only partially fade after a few treatments, and may leave a ghost or permanent raised scar. So the big question is: would you rather cover up or leave a ghost or partial tattoo?
2. It’s not a one-time treatment
Almost every tattoo removal case will require multiple treatments. Unfortunately, the number of treatments can’t be predetermined at the time of your initial consultation. Because there are so many factors involved in the process, it’s difficult to estimate the number of laser tattoo removal treatments needed before evaluating your tattoo. The age of the tattoo, the size of the tattoo, and the color and type of ink used can all affect the overall effectiveness of the treatment and may affect the total number of treatments needed.
The time between treatments is another key factor. Going back for laser treatment too soon increases the risk of side effects, such as skin irritation and open wounds. The average time between treatments is 8 to 12 weeks.
3. Location matters
Tattoos on the arms or legs often fade more slowly because they’re farther from the heart. The location of the tattoo can even “affect the time and number of treatments required to completely remove the tattoo.” Areas of the body with better circulation and blood flow, such as the chest and neck, will have tattoos fade faster than areas with poor circulation, such as the feet, ankles, and hands.
4. Professional tattoos are different from amateur tattoos
The success of removal depends largely on the tattoo itself – for example, the color used and the depth of the ink embedded are two major considerations. Professional tattoos can penetrate deep into the skin evenly, which makes treatment easier. However, professional tattoos are also more saturated with ink, which is a big challenge. Amateur tattoo artists often use uneven hands to apply tattoos, which can make removal difficult, but overall, they tend to be easier to remove.
5. Not all lasers are the same
There are multiple ways to remove tattoos, and different laser wavelengths can remove different colors. Laser tattoo technology has improved significantly in recent years, and the Picosecond Laser treatment device is one of the best; it uses three wavelengths depending on the color to be removed. Upgraded laser cavity structure, dual lamps and dual rods, more energy and better results. 7-section weighted Korean light guide arm with adjustable spot size. It is effective in removing tattoos of all colors, including black, red, green and blue. The most difficult colors to remove are orange and pink, but the laser can also be adjusted to minimize these tattoos.
This Picosecond Laser machine can also be customized to suit your needs and budget, and different configurations are priced differently. If you are interested in this machine, please leave us a message and a product manager will contact you shortly to provide assistance.

6. Understand what to expect after treatment
You may experience some symptoms after treatment, including blisters, swelling, raised tattoos, spotting, redness and temporary darkening. These symptoms are common and usually subside within a few weeks. If you have any questions, please consult your doctor.
